The evangelization of the many Indian groups of southern Mexico originated special fashions of art & symbols that such audiences could relate to, understand, accept and find peace with. Unusual art styles were created that are today a rich cultural example of that amazing era. This is a brief overview of the unorthodox & unique Christian iconography in colonial art that was used to accomplish the transition of faith in the New World.
