Church of San Jeronimo Tlacochahuaya
This is the church that has the most complete original murals from late XVI and early XVII centuries.
These murals are important as they are the authentic art subjects that were presented to the Indian masses in beautiful colors and painted with natural dyes such as the “Grana Cochinilla”. There are also complete wooden altars with paintings preserved.
There is a beautiful organ on the choir that stands out. It has been restored and concerts are given during the historic organ festival every fall. For more details... www.iohio.org
