The Spanish Crown’s decision to acculturate the native Mesoamericans resulted in a mixed new breed of Mexicans, and the combination of elements from both worlds introduced new foods, customs and religious principles. Mexicans learned to use new technology brought from Europe to make easier their work in weaving, pottery, farming and new trades introduced. Guilds & schools of fine arts were established and the manufacturing goods & art production grew. This is a brief overview showing how present day Oaxacan artisans create with their hands the magic of 30 centuries of cultural heritage that brings joy, fun, & beauty into our lives as well as help to keep them proudly connected to their past.
