Folk Art in San Andres Chicahuaxtla

This is village deep in the Mixtec highlands is one of the few Triqui Indian villages in Oaxaca. The Triqui are a very proud group that can be distinguished by their unique style of dress. While men work the slopes of the terraced hillside farms, the women work on the backstrap looms making beautiful textiles for their children, family and also to sell.
