Folk Art in San Juan Copala
This village lies deep in the Mixtec highlands and is the largest of the Triqui Indian villages of Oaxaca. Triqui weavers have organized a Women's Cooperative where over 50 members weave fine textiles to send to Mexico City and further afield. The variety and colors of these textiles distinguish this town as nearly everybody wears them everyday for status value and village identity.
